Advancing evidence-based policy in Small Island States and partner nations
A digital-first report
The State of SIDS Report 2026: Defending the Special Case
The State of SIDS Report 2026 is a landmark, comprehensive synthesis of current evidence on sustainable development across Small Island Developing States. Developed by nearly 30 island experts from the Resilient and Sustainable Islands Initiative (RESI) at ODI Global, this vital publication tackles critical issues spanning economic self-sufficiency, gender equality, resilient energy infrastructure, and international financial architecture reform. Ultimately, it makes a powerful case for sustained global support by highlighting both the immense value of small islands to humanity, and the urgency of the existential threats they face.
